Water at Uepi
Uepi Island Resort provides fresh, filtered rainwater down to 1 micron and UV Sterilised, to ensure it is safe to drink. However, water from other sources in the Solomon Islands may not be safe. If in doubt, boil the water before consumption.
Dress Code
Light and Casual: Comfortable clothing is perfect for the resort.
Cultural consideration for Women: While Uepi staff are accustomed to modern swimwear. However when visiting local villages women should cover their thighs when in the presence of local people to respect cultural norms (e.g., wearing a sarong or non-brief shorts).
Footwear:
Thongs (Jandals, Flip-Flops) are suitable for resort paths.
Sneakers or very sturdy sandals are recommended for jungle paths or excursions.
Rain Protection: Bring a lightweight raincoat for traveling in open boats, as rain showers can be brief but heavy.
Sun Protection:
A shady hat (secure for boat travel)
Lots of sunscreen
A long-sleeve shirt for added protection
We also recommend packing a small torch and a fold-up umbrella.
